GreenWin and its European Partners launch the European S3CoP Partnership (Smart Specialisation Community of Practice) CIRCULAR BUILDING

GreenWin is proud to announce the launch, this November 2024, of the European S3CoP (Smart Specialisation Community of Practice) ‘Circular Buildings’ partnership, an ambitious initiative aimed at transforming the construction sector by strengthening circular practices across Europe. This initiative is part of the Smart Specialisation Thematic Platform ‘Industrial Modernisation’, which brings together 24 other European partnerships, including Hydrogen Valleys S3 Partnership and Berry+.

This collaboration brings together strategic partners from four European regions, represented respectively by the GreenWin competitiveness cluster (Wallonia, Belgium), the Build&Connect competitiveness cluster (Grand Est, France), the BuiltCoLAB research centre (Northern Portugal), and the Cleantech Bulgaria (CTBG) and EDIH in Construction Sector (South-West and Central-West Bulgaria) innovation hubs.
The aim is to stimulate innovation and promote concrete solutions for the reuse and recycling of materials in the construction sector through intra-regional collaboration. The consortium aims to extend its partnership to other countries sharing a common vision on materials circularity, to shape together the future of circular construction.

Key objectives of the partnership :

> Mobilise and connect ecosystems with different levels of maturity.

> Raise awareness of circular practices and sustainable innovation.

> Generate shared knowledge assets.

> Contribute to regional, national and European strategies and policies.

> Mobilise funding and increase the number of interregional projects, especially for SMEs and start-ups.

> Increase the innovation potential of the circular value chain.

> Support the construction industry in its circular transition.

> Develop replicable models and capacity-building initiatives in other regions.

This partnership is part of the S3 smart specialisation strategy, supported by the European Commission, and benefits from economic and/or political support from the regional authorities.
In Wallonia, the project is supported by SPW EER, as part of the Win4 IIS (DIS1 circularity of materials).

GreenWin will present the partnership at the European S3 launch event in Rimini, Italy, on 11 & 12 December 2024.
More information on our next actions will be shared after this event. Stay tune
