Meet Stéphane NEIRYNCK, Director of the Centre Terre et Pierre and of REMIND Wallonia

Stéphane NEIRYNCK is Managing Director of the Centre Terre et Pierre (CTP) and Director of the REMIND Wallonia platform. In his next speech, he will address the theme of ‘REMIND Wallonia: contributions to the European Mineral Valley’, highlighting the way in which this pioneering initiative is positioning Wallonia at the forefront of the circularity of mineral materials and sustainable industrial transformation in Europe.

REMIND Wallonia aims to accelerate the circular economy applied to mineral resources, stimulating innovation, value creation and sustainable employment, while supporting the regional ambition to make Wallonia the “Mineral Valley” of north-west Europe by 2030.

A civil engineer by training and a graduate of the École des Mines de Mons, Stéphane began his career in a Walloon research centre specialising in ceramics. In 2010, he took over as CEO of the Centre Terre et Pierre (CTP) in Tournai. The Centre, which employs around fifty people, is recognised for its expertise in the circularity and recycling of materials - particularly minerals - as well as in metal chemistry. The CTP is the only accredited research centre in Belgium dedicated to mineral processing, offering a wide range of research, consultancy and analysis services for both the mining and recycling sectors.
